Why do we believe crazy beauty advice from unreliable sources? Why?Why I say?
Maybe because on some level we feel that they might know something we don't?Look I'm not saying that some of the things you hear from your sisters friends cousin Tracy couldn't be true.I'm saying there is a lot of misunderstood information out there about makeup.....So hopefully I can help set the record straight!Or just clarify that your sisters friends cousin Tracy was indeed right ;p
MYTH 1.....
You can do harm to your skin if you wear makeup every day?
BullS&*%.....
Makeup actually protects the skin from the sun, and from the crap blowing around in the air... Today's foundations and powders, even lip glosses offer sun protection – SPF 15 or higher to prevent skin discolorations or sunburns.
Myth 2: “Use Cocoa Butter to stop stretch marks”
A: YES Cocoa Butter helps soften the skin,BUT NOT for stretch marks. Fact is that our skin is in layers and stretch marks develop deep within these layers so in order to “eliminate” the marks you’ll need something a little deeper than good old cocoa butter. So sorry pregnant ladies who swear by it,but its probably that your really keeping hydrated or good genetics....
MYTH 3.
Red lipstick is not for everyone.False. Anyone can wear red lipstick, they just need to find the right red for them. Be cautious, though-reds that are too bright will make you look like a clown, and reds that are too dark will frankly, make you look like a hooker.Annnndddd end scene. Myth4. Shaving will make your hair grow back thicker, quicker.
False! Shaving your legs or any where else (you know what i mean) will not make your hair grow back any thicker or darker. When you shave, you’re cutting the hair off on top of skin, not pulling it out from the root (can i just say ouch!). It may seem like stubble is thick and dark, because longer hair tapers off at the end, but it’s exactly the same thickness, as the hair you shaved to begin with.
Myth #5: COFFEE CAN CURE CELLULITE?
Supermodel of the 90s Cindy Crawford is said to be a fan of rubbing coffee grounds on her butt to keep jiggle free, and in fact, a lot of anti-cellulite products such as Shiseido's Body Creator Aromatic Sculpting Concentrate include caffeine. But, um,really? why? Scientists have proven that it can speed up cell metabolism, and that means it can help with the elimination of toxins which are thought to cause the problem in the first place. This one is half and half.We do know that caffeine can help, there is no latte cream--. Instead, try a combination of body brushing and regular massage using a cream containing active ingredients such as caffeine is likely to have the best results. And as a side note if rubbing coffee on my ass made it smooth then don't think for one sec i wouldn't be.I at least drink enough....but sadly that still doesn't count ;(XOXOX,
